Expert Imaging for
Every Need.
Brain MRI
Our high-field Brain MRI protocols are the gold standard for investigating chronic headaches, sudden cognitive changes, or monitoring existing neurological conditions. Using sub-millimeter precision, we map the delicate structures of the cerebral cortex, white matter, and brainstem.
- Detection of stroke, tumors, and white matter disease
- High-sensitivity FLAIR sequences for inflammation
- Focused protocols for pituitary and skull base evaluation
Spine MRI (Cervical, Thoracic, Lumbar)
We provide comprehensive imaging for the entire spine, specialized for patients suffering from back pain, disc herniation, or nerve impingement. Our scanners capture the highest possible resolution of the spinal cord, vertebral bodies, and intervertebral discs.
- Full assessment of the Cervical, Thoracic, and Lumbar regions
- Identification of disc herniations and spinal stenosis
- Nerve root impingement and radiculopathy mapping
Dementia Screening MRI
Early detection is critical for managing memory loss. Our Dementia Screening protocol utilizes advanced volumetric analysis to differentiate between normal age-related changes and various forms of cognitive decline, including Alzheimer’s and frontotemporal dementia.
- Precise hippocampal volumetric measurements
- Early detection of cortical atrophy
- Objective data to guide long-term care strategies
Aneurysm Screening MRI
Using non-invasive MRA (Magnetic Resonance Angiogram) technology, we visualize the blood flow within the brain’s Circle of Willis without the need for contrast agents. This scan is a critical preventative tool for individuals with a family history of stroke or aneurysms.
- Identification of cerebral aneurysms and malformations
- Evaluation of carotid and vertebral artery health
- Completely non-invasive, radiation-free vascular check
Full-Body Cancer Screening
Our most comprehensive wellness tool. This protocol screens the head, neck, chest, abdomen, and pelvis in a single session, designed to detect early-stage abnormalities or tumors in major organs before symptoms even appear.
- Multi-organ screening: Liver, Kidneys, Pancreas, and Spleen
- Metabolic and reproductive health assessment
- Holistic view of internal health without any ionizing radiation

Patient FAQs
How do I know if my insurance covers an MRI scan?
Most major insurance providers cover MRI scans when medically necessary. Our patient coordination team works directly with your insurance company to verify benefits and handle pre-authorization before you arrive.
Do I need a doctor's referral for an MRI in Los Angeles?
Yes, for diagnostic MRI scans, a referral from a licensed physician is required. For certain elective screenings like Full Body Cancer Scans, our physician-led team can review your history to determine eligibility.
Is an MRI scan painful?
Not at all. An MRI is a non-invasive procedure. You will lie on a comfortable table and must remain still while the scanner uses magnetic fields and radio waves to create images. You may hear loud clicking or thumping sounds, but we provide noise-canceling headphones.
I am claustrophobic. Can I still get an MRI?
Absolutely. We specialize in ‘Wide-Bore’ MRI systems which offer significantly more space (70cm) than traditional machines. Many patients find these much more comfortable. We also offer sedation options if requested through your physician.
How long does a typical MRI scan take?
Depending on the area being scanned, most procedures take between 20 to 45 minutes. More complex multi-area scans or full-body screenings can take up to 90 minutes.
When will my results be ready?
At IvieScan, we prioritize speed. Preliminary reports are often available within 24-48 hours. Our board-certified radiologists interpret your images and send a detailed report directly to your referring physician.
Are there any side effects from the MRI magnetic field?
MRI uses no ionizing radiation (unlike X-rays or CT scans). There are no known biological side effects. However, patients with certain metal implants or pacemakers must be screened for safety.
What should I wear to my appointment?
We recommend comfortable, loose-fitting clothing without metal zippers, buttons, or underwires. We may ask you to change into a medical gown to ensure the highest image quality.
What is a 'Full Body Cancer Screening'?
This is a proactive, comprehensive scan designed to detect abnormalities, tumors, or early-stage cancers throughout the major organs of the body before symptoms appear
Can I bring someone into the scan room with me?
For safety reasons, only the patient and clinical staff are typically allowed in the magnet room. However, a companion can wait in our comfortable reception area just outside.
